The weather has been outstanding which allowed us to make the most of the fishing on all of the grounds we regularly cover!

We mainly fished our local reefs this month as they were producing a vast variety of quality Reefies!

Some of the standout trips happened out on Chardons with a lot of quality Snapper on the bite.

North reef was also bringing up the goods with some nice sized Mulloway, Northern Bluefin Tuna, and also a mixed bag of other Reefies on the bite.

Weather and fishing was awesome, and meant that there were not many rest days for us fisho’s!

Not that anyone was complaining, all the Reef fish joined the party with Double Island Point being the standout fishing location by producing some really good quality Large Mouthed Nannygai 8-10kg, Gold Band Snapper 8-10kg and Snapper up to 7kg!

Also on the bite on all reefs was:
Sweet lip, Moses perch, pearl perch, Venus tusk fish, Teraglin Jew fish, Maori and greasy cod!

The Barwon Banks were fishing really well; The main species caught out there were Pearlies, Snapper, Teraglin Jew, and there was some really nice sized Venus Tusk Fish about.

Most of the action with the bigger Snapper happenned on soft plastics!

The local reefs such as Chardons and North Reef also produced some decent sized reefies with the added bonus of Cobia & Mulloway Jewfish!

To sum it up, all in all it was a pretty good month!

With the Whales migrating north there was quite a lot of excitement going on with each trip; we are very lucky to be able to combine fishing with chance Whale watching through the winter months! The majority of trips have Whale sightings!

The month finished up with quite a lot of wind and trips were few and far between.

Some of the species caught this month included:
teraglin jewfish, cobia, moses perch, pearl perch, snapper, Jewfish, hussar, venus tusk fish, Maori cod, scarlet sea perch, red emperor and the odd northern bluefin tuna.

The Reef species presenting themselves already make for a promising winter fishing season!
