November 2011
The first half of November was looking promising weather wise.
Double Island point was a standout with Red Emperor up to 13kg and Large Mouthed Nannygai up to 9kg!
Quite a few good quality fish were lost to the men in the grey suits with the Black Tip Reef sharks thick on the bottom for the majority of the month!
October 2011
October has kept up the pace with September!!!
The weather has been outstanding which allowed us to make the most of the fishing on all of the grounds we regularly cover!
We mainly fished our local reefs this month as they were producing a vast variety of quality Reefies!
Some of the standout trips happened out on Chardons with a lot of quality Snapper on the bite.
North reef was also bringing up the goods with some nice sized Mulloway, Northern Bluefin Tuna, and also a mixed bag of other Reefies on the bite.
September 2011
What a fantastic month September shaped up to be…
Weather and fishing was awesome, and meant that there were not many rest days for us fisho’s!
Not that anyone was complaining, all the Reef fish joined the party with Double Island Point being the standout fishing location by producing some really good quality Large Mouthed Nannygai 8-10kg, Gold Band Snapper 8-10kg and Snapper up to 7kg!
Also on the bite on all reefs was:
Sweet lip, Moses perch, pearl perch, Venus tusk fish, Teraglin Jew fish, Maori and greasy cod!
August 2011
Great month for the Snapper
The Barwon Banks were fishing really well; The main species caught out there were Pearlies, Snapper, Teraglin Jew, and there was some really nice sized Venus Tusk Fish about.
Most of the action with the bigger Snapper happenned on soft plastics!
The local reefs such as Chardons and North Reef also produced some decent sized reefies with the added bonus of Cobia & Mulloway Jewfish!
To sum it up, all in all it was a pretty good month!
July 2011
Conditions early in the month meant that we got in a shipload of good trips!
With the Whales migrating north there was quite a lot of excitement going on with each trip; we are very lucky to be able to combine fishing with chance Whale watching through the winter months! The majority of trips have Whale sightings!
The month finished up with quite a lot of wind and trips were few and far between.
Some of the species caught this month included:
teraglin jewfish, cobia, moses perch, pearl perch, snapper, Jewfish, hussar, venus tusk fish, Maori cod, scarlet sea perch, red emperor and the odd northern bluefin tuna.

The fishing was a little touch and go at the start of this month; With some of the reefs producing loads one day and close to nothing the next. North Reef started to produce a few good size Snapper toward the end of the month mostly 3-6 kg.
In general the outer reefs were producing more consistently, and with a few night charters under our belt for the month we seemed to get in quite a few high energy trips!
The big knobbies that were about this time last year seem to be hiding away. But the big Amber Jack are doing their part to excite the customers!
Some of the species caught this month include: snapper, moses perch, pearl perch, teraglin jewfish and venus tusk fish, Sweet Lip, Red throat emperor, hussar, Maori cod, gold spot wrasse, cobia, mackerel tuna and the odd amberjack.

The month just kept getting better and we managed to bag quite a variety of fish with plenty of Pelaigics still ablout as well as some quality Reef species!
There were quite a few memorable catches this month with a couple of Yellowtail Kigfish (up to 12kg), and some good size (as pictured, 12kg) Spanish Mackerel about!

Quite a good month, with more than average sized fish being caught all round.
The fishing at the start of the month was best close in (up to 40km’s offshore).
The Banks started to produce some great quality fish by mid month and when the ‘Yachties’ came out on the 13th for their night charter they certainly had a few good fish on board.

With the weather easing up a little we were able to get in a few good trips and some of them out wide!
The Banks and DI were fishing well with a mixed bag of Pelagics and nice Scarlet and snapper, not to mention loads of other reef species on the bite.
The Reef species presenting themselves already make for a promising winter fishing season!
